Power2Drive: chargebyte presents latest hardware and software products around charging communication

Charging communication specialist introduces at the trade fair its enhanced DC charge controller for the first time to the public

At this year's Power2Drive, the experts for charging communication of chargebyte GmbH will present their large portfolio of hardware and software products around charging communication at the Munich fair from June 14 to 16 in hall B6, booth 736. On the hardware side, the focus will be on the release of the enhanced Charge Control D charging controller for charging columns. "This year, we are providing a preview of the innovative possibilities that electromobility offers for the vehicle of tomorrow. With the release of our near-series B-Sample, we want to further advance DC charging and enable a compact design for the charging point," said Thomas Wagner, CEO of chargebyte GmbH. The controller, which is based on a real-time operating system, regulates all processes of a charging process in DC charging, from communication with the vehicle and control of the power electronics to interaction with a backend.

Bidirectional AC and DC charging solutions

Furthermore, chargebyte announces that the Charge Control C controller has integrated the unified operating system (OS) "Josev Professional" from Switch, the technology and knowledge expert for the EV charging industry. Thanks to the partnership, manufacturers of electric vehicle chargers can now bring bidirectional AC and DC charging solutions to market even more easily and quickly. Electric vehicle drivers can enjoy greater convenience through Plug & Charge support, and EV charging networks can reap financial benefits.

New powerline chip for charging communication modules

In addition, chargebyte has partnered with Vertexcom Technologies Inc, a company that develops chips for smart charging, and prisma sales service gmbh to drive the e-mobility market. The goal of the three companies is to develop HomePlug® GreenPHY modules that comply with the ISO15118 CCS communication protocol for electric vehicle charging systems. chargebyte is using the Vertexcom GreenPHY chip MSE102x+MSEX2x-i to develop and manufacture the modules.

Open source project enables industrial quality charging

chargebyte presents an efficient ISO 15118-20 layer to the trade fair audience for the first time in order to build bidirectional charging stations. For this purpose, the software products "cbEXIGen" and "cbV2G" were released as part of the open source project "EVerest" of the Linux Foundation Energy. The project was initiated by PIONIX GmbH and aims to develop a universal operating system for any kind of charging infrastructure in a broad industry alliance.
